Randel Porter, LPC
Private therapy for individuals and couples throughout Texas by secure video.

Randel Porter, LPC serves Plano, Texas and the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area exclusively through secure video sessions. My practice is based in San Antonio, Texas.

Something painful keeps happening — and it won't stop.

The same anxiety. The same arguments. The same stuck feeling — no matter how much you've tried, how successful you've become, or how clearly you understand what's happening.

Plano attracts exceptional people. Executives, entrepreneurs, professionals who have built remarkable lives and handle complexity at the highest level every day.

In many cases, the problem isn’t what’s actually happening — it’s the meaning that has been attached to it.

And yet something keeps happening that none of that success touches.

Tone, timing, pauses, and facial expressions get misread automatically.  An upsetting reaction seems to come out of nowhere and hijacks your peace of mind.

Maybe it's the conversation that always escalates before either of you intended it to. The decision you can't bring yourself to make despite knowing exactly what you should do. The anxiety that shows up uninvited no matter how well everything else is going. The relationship that should be thriving — and isn’t.  Or maybe it's a sadness or depression that lingers quietly beneath everything — present even when life looks fine from the outside.

By the time someone thinks, “Why did that affect me so strongly?” the discomfort has already formed.

You don't want to talk about it indefinitely. You want it to stop.

That's exactly what this work addresses.

Not your typical therapy. And considerably faster.

Most therapy helps you understand what's happening. This goes directly to what's been generating it — and clears it. Not manages it. Not processes it.

Clears it.

Imagine this instead:

Having a hard conversation with ease. Making a big decision while enveloped with calm. Going through your day without the background hum of anxiety.  A cool, unshakable confidence that simply becomes who you are. That’s what it feels like when this resolves.
Sessions are focused, direct, and surprisingly engaging. Most people describe noticeable shifts quickly — often sooner than they expected. What follows isn't coping. It's clarity, ease, and a sense of power and flexibility most people didn't think was still possible.

Who this tends to fit

The Analytical Professional

Thoughtful, capable people who have tried to figure this out through sheer determination, reading, or previous therapy — and find it keeps happening anyway.

The Result-Oriented Mind

High performers who want what keeps happening entirely gone. Not managed. Not explained. Gone.

The Elite Optimizer

Professionals who come not because something is broken, but because their thinking, decisions, or presence could be sharper.  Clearer.  More effective. For them this isn't therapy in the traditional sense — it's executive coaching at the deepest level.

If that's where you are — you're in exactly the right place.

Common Questions

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

For this work — yes. What changes happens in the conversation, not the room. With my approach, clients throughout Texas report the same results via secure video as those seen for in-person sessions.

What does a first session look like?

Most professionals arrive expecting a standard bureaucratic intake interview.  Instead, the first session is active and direct — we go straight to what's generating the problem, and most clients experience a tangible shift before the session ends.  My sessions are engaging and explicitly respectful of your time.

Do you work with couples?

Yes — couples counseling and marriage therapy are a significant part of this practice. The same approach that works for individuals works powerfully for couples — going directly to the source of what keeps generating the conflict and bypassing surface-level bickering to achieve real, enjoyable connection.

How long does this take?

It's not indefinite. Most clients experience meaningful shifts quickly—often within the first few sessions—and we work together until the thing that brought you in is resolved, not just managed indefinitely.

How do I get started?

A brief, complimentary consultation is the best first step — a chance to share what's been going on and determine whether this is the right fit.

The thing that keeps happening? It can stop.
